Take HR1540 Military Tuition Assistance Cuts Seriously

I made this video to show my support for what Sgt. Sheffer and her group is trying to do. I hope that everyone, whether you are enlisted or not, will take the pending military tuition assistance cuts seriously. Call your representative today and tell him or her that you object to the CONGRESS breaking its promises to our enlisted military.

  1. I earned my PhD in Engineering while enlisted in the US Army. Without 100% military tuition assistance, I likely would not have attempted it. It is a great way for our country's enlisted men and women to advance themselves.

  3. I heard that just last week a draft memo was circulated that outlined a proposal to cut Marine Corps Tuition Assistance to less than $200 a credit hour.

The rumor mill also says that Congress will limit the number of units a Marine could take each year.

Under our current policy, we are eligible for $250 per credit hour and $4,500 a year up to 18 credits a year.

So far, the changes have not been made official. However, several schools have reported that Marine Corps Tuition Assistance requests appear to be on hold for the time being.
